Danses Roumaines by Canteloube are six Romanian folk songs and dances for Piano written in 1930 after folk songs collected by Michel Vulpesco. The composer is best known for his collection of orchestrated folksongs from the Auvergne region of France titled Chants d'Auvergne
The movements in order are:
1. Hora de Jalomitza
2. Dame Jeanne (Lady Jean)
3. Les Olténiens sont partis pour faucher
4. Hélène (Helen)
5. Hora de la mariée (The Marriage Dance)
6. A Ceinture Rouge (A Red Belt)
About 18 minutes in length, these six movements are suitable for advanced performers.
