Thats what friends are for

This is a very well-crafted and usable arrangement of a lovely Burt Bacharach ballad. Our quintet will be performing it very soon for a large audience. I only have two suggestions to make this piece even more of an asset to a brass quintet library: 1) Add an optional drum part, as many of the other brass-music-online publications offer and 2) Replace the rather naked open-fifth whole note at the end of the piece with a rich major ninth or other lush chord. I would recommend this piece to other brass groups.
UPDATE:
Madsen music has implemented these ideas!

That´s what Friends are for - by Burt Bacharach (*1928) - Arranged for Brass Quintet by Henrik Madsen.

Burt Bacharach is a giant in the pop music industry of the seventies - plus the composer of blockbuster hit after hit. Every single tune that man wrote turned out successful. This tune is no different.

Mr. Madsen has done a really good job arranging this popular tune for Brass Quintet. The French Horn has a couple of high notes ( Natural Gs and Fs ), but the rest of the Quintet has pretty easy parts.
