Goedicke, Alexander – Concert Etude, opus 49 for Brass Quintet (Trumpet solo feature)
Alexander Goedicke 1877 - 1957 (born in Moscow) was a Russian composer and pianist. Goedicke was a professor at the Moscow Conservatory. He studied piano at the Moscow Conservatory, and although quite prolific as a composer, had no formal training in composition. But despite his lack of traditional guidance, his compositional efforts were rewarded when he won the Rubinstein Prize for Composition at the young age of 23.
His Concert Etude, opus 49 is a major technical work for Trumpet, played on many recitals, exams and festivals. Mr. Aldcroft's premier arrangement of this brilliant work, now allows the medium of Brass Quintet to bring this work to life.
