Mahler, Gustav – Adagietto from Mahler Symphony #5 for six (6) part Trombone ensemble & optional harp
This work can be performed by as few as 6 or as many a large trombone choir with optional harp part. This famous "slow" movement from Mahler Symphony #5 was written as a "love letter" by Mahler to the love of his life, his wife, Alma. This transcription is one of the best I have ever worked with and makes a magical setting to a concert. Listen to the sample mp3 to hear the ensemble "SlideShow" conducted by Jon Bohls from a December 2008 performance of the work.
